MAMATA-PMMVY (Mamata + PM Matru Vandana)
₹12,000 for a girl, ₹10,000 for a boy
Cash help for pregnant women and new mothers. In Odisha, the Mamata scheme and the central PM Matru Vandana Yojana now run together as one scheme.
💰 What you get
- ₹12,000 if the baby is a girl, ₹10,000 if the baby is a boy.
- Women from PVTG tribal groups get it for every live birth.
- Paid in parts into the mother's Aadhaar-linked bank or post-office account (DBT), after each health step.
✅ Who can apply
- ✔Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers living in Odisha.
- ✔For the first living child — and the second child if it is a girl (PMMVY rule).
- ✔Each payment needs health steps: early registration at the Anganwadi, check-ups, registering the birth, the baby's vaccines and growth monitoring.
- ✔After a miscarriage or stillbirth you can register again for the next pregnancy.
❌ Who cannot
- ✘Women who already get paid maternity benefit from their employer.
- ✘Families earning above the income limit (reported as ₹8 lakh a year — confirm at your Anganwadi).
🪜 How to apply, step by step
- 1As soon as you know you are pregnant, go to your Anganwadi Centre and register.
- 2The Anganwadi or ASHA worker enters your details and checks your Aadhaar.
- 3Go for your check-ups, register the birth and get the baby's vaccines on time.
- 4Money comes into your bank account in parts after each set of steps. Check status on pmmvy.wcd.gov.in or call 14408.
📌 Good to know
- Outside Odisha, PMMVY pays ₹5,000 for the first child and ₹6,000 for a second girl child. In Odisha the higher joint MAMATA-PMMVY amounts apply.
- How many parts the money comes in and the amount of each part — ask your Anganwadi worker.
